Financial Assistance

Garner Area Ministries provides financial assistance to individuals and families in Garner, NC. Clients may receive assistance for one utility bill once every 12 months. Our goal is to prevent crises by offering help with essential bills. 

We Help Pay

  • Utilities: Electric, water, or natural gas bills.

  • Medical Prescriptions: Available only through Garner Family Pharmacy & 5th Ave. Pharmacy (CVS and Walgreens do not accept phone pledges).

  • Rent: For clients facing eviction or at risk of losing housing.

We Do Not Help Pay

We are unable to cover car payments or repairs, gasoline, any housing deposit, or insurance expenses.

Financial Assistance Eligibility

To request help, you must:

  • A resident of Garner or Raleigh (zip codes 27529, 27603)

  • Provide a valid photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport)

  • Show proof of residence (lease or recent bill with your name) & address

  • Meet with an organization officer at 558 Village Court, Garner, NC 27529. You are required to schedule an appointment. Call 919.772.9100

Required Documentation

For Utility Assistance:

  • The most recent past-due bills showing the account holder’s name, account number, and address

  • Clients may receive assistance for one utility bill once every 12 months.

For Rental Assistance:

  • An eviction notice or letter from the landlord confirming the amount due and due date.

  • A signed lease agreement.
