Thrift Store

The thrift store’s mission is to help raise funds for families who can not pay bills or are going through financial hardship. The thrift store is open to anyone in the community whether you want to shop or donate, both will help our mission and hopefully you will have an outlet to get rid of some of your things and pass it along or you might find a great deal on a knick knack and that money goes directly to a family in need. The Garner area ministries raises enough funds each month to help over 300 families, on average.

All proceeds are used to serve our clients going through financial hardship.

Our Clients receive clothing and household items from our Thrift Store at least once every three months. Our goal is to offer items more frequently, and we’ll be able to do so with the right donations! For this reason, we accept gently used business casual attire for our clients who are in need of good clothes for job interviews and work. We also need jackets, slacks, gloves, shorts, trousers, dresses, skirts, tops, ties, shoes, and coats.

In order to raise funds through the store, we typically aren’t too picky about what you have to donate. We are sure that our shoppers will see treasures among your trash! and we appreciate any contribution. The more donations we receive, the lower the price our items can be, which is a great way to recycle and reuse in volume!

We accept cash/check/credit.

DONATIONS WE ACCEPT

We will accept donations of any gently used baby items like toys, strollers, play pins, bottles, blankets, high chairs, and everything of this sort.

We accept toiletries and hygiene items if they are new.

We always need household items like cleaning stuff, dishes, vacuums, rugs, pictures, furniture and more.

We always need appliances like toasters, microwaves, coffee pots, washers/dryers, etc.

Typically, we don’t accept many electronics like laptops, printers, desktop computers, etc. unless they work when you bring it in and it’s been wiped clean of any files. If it is not operable, we won’t accept it because it will cause clutter until one of our volunteers can dump it for you. There’s also a security concern if you have old documents in your files.

When it comes to school supplies , we like for these items to be more new than used, like folders, backpacks, calculators, rulers, paper, pens, highlighters, notebooks, etc.
